In the NBA playoffs this season, that player is Chicago Bulls' guard Nate Robinson. Without franchise player Derrick Rose, Robinson has been everything and more for the Bulls and at this moment at least, it would be hard to imagine where the Bulls would be this postseason without him.
For starters, Robinson is scoring like crazy. This postseason, Robinson is averaging 18.3 points per game and in the process, is coming up huge in key situations.
In his team's 93-86 win over the Miami Heat in Game 1 of the second round last night, Robinson made huge baskets in his team's 10-0 run to end the game. In fact, Robinson had seven of those 10 points for his basketball team to help them win a crucial Game 1 that set the tone for this series.
Secondly, Robinson is showing just how tough and competitive he is. After getting stitches in the locker room after colliding with Heat and NBA MVP Lebron James in the second quarter, Robinson returned to the court in the second half and did everything he could to lead his team to victory.
Lastly, for someone that is just 5'9, Robinson plays like a very big man. After his team's victory last night, teammate Joakim Noah said the following about Robinson to the media:
"For somebody that size to do the things he does, "Bulls center Joakim Noah told Yahoo! Sports in an empty locker room after Chicago beat Miami, 93-86. "You tell me a player under 6 feet tall who's better, in the history of the game."Even with the likes of James, Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh on the court, it appears that going into Game 2, Robinson is the big man in this series.
