It Ain't Over Till It's Over

One of the greatest things about the playoffs in professional sports is that there is no quit in the teams that are lucky enough to make it.

In the regular season, it is easy to see when a team has taken its foot off the pedal in a game and just coasted to the final buzzer. There is no such thing as that in the postseason.

A prime example of this is occurring right now in the NBA Playoffs. The NBA may not be the most exciting sport around but that could end up changing if one particular series can go the distance and shock many not only throughout the world of basketball, but the entire sports world.

Obviously, I am talking about the first round series between the New York Knicks and Boston Celtics. Coming into this series, the Knicks were heavily favored to not only knock down the Celtics, but knock them down hard.

Through the first three games of the series, it certainly seemed like that was going to happen. The Knicks quickly went up 3-0 thanks to strong performances in the second half of each game and the know how when it comes to handling the ball and taking the right shots.

Two games later, however, things have changed. The series is now 3-2 as the Celtics have found another gear and are now just two wins from making NBA history as they look to become the first team in the league to come back from a 3-0 series deficit and win a series.

Obviously, the Knicks are still favored to win this series. They have the talent, they have the scoring and know how to take advantage of the Celtics' terrible control of the basketball.

With that said, it is always fun to see a team try and claw its way back into a series. When a club is doing this, you will usually see this team get the right bounces, the right calls and play without fear.

Right now, the Celtics have no fear. They know that they are back in this series and they know that all they need to do is win Game 6 tomorrow night in Boston to force a Game 7 at Madison Square Garden.

Again, the NBA may not be the most exciting sport in the world but when a team is down 3-0 in a playoff series has all of a sudden made it 3-2, the sport becomes more than worth just watching. Not many teams in professional sports have come back from 3-0 series' deficits to win so when a team accomplishes that, it is pretty amazing.

As it is said in sports and many other facets in life, it ain't over till it's over.
